I picked up a new Hobie Outback last night and listened to Rawkfish give his salmon fishing presentation at Next Adventure.  Thanks Rawkfish for doing that.  The information was very useful.

This morning I decided to try the Hobie out in Tillamook Bay.  After getting organized, I hit the water at the crack of ten.  I decided to keep the gear pretty simple for the maiden voyage.  I ran a diver, flasher and a Brads plug cut herring lure packed with tuna.

I launched at Garabaldi and trolled towards the ghost hole.  Within ten minutes of putting my line in the water I had my first kayak salmon.

It was a great day to be on the water and I really like my new kayak.
The two best times to fish is when it’s raining and when it ain’t. -Patrick McManus

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Isn't this how everyone does it?

Ha ha ha. That is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. I guess I just need to buy a new boat - Right?

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Talk about beginners luck!  (Shaking head in disbelief). It took me almost 7 months to land my 1st nook.  Some people have all the luck in the world.  Congrats, wash, rinse and repeat!

Awesome. There's a lot to be said for keeping it simple. Maybe you could take Mojo Jojo out to get him a Till bay salmon  ;)

Ok I give up. I've been trying to catch those salmon for three years. Guide no guide. I can't buy me a fish. I have better luck going snipe hunting with my grandkids. This is not even funny. For sale 2 outbacks.
