Nice fish and cool video Jason.

I totally agree about the game  clip........

1st rule when catching a salmon from a kayak... secure the fish immediately upon landing. I've seen and had happen losing a fish showing it off before securing the fish . Only to have them shake and jump right out of my hand. And it will really piss you off at yourself---- cause you didn't secure the fish. Most of the time now -- I'll get it on the clip before I take out the hook.

Very awesome that you hooked up <45 seconds into your troll. Good job.

She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

I like to kill my fish as soon as it's in my lap. That usually keeps it from flopping around. I'll game clip or fish bag it once it's bled out. ;)

I will game clip first then remove the hook then gill cut it and bleed it as alive as possible, not to be cruel or mean but it will pump more blood alive then dead.

I just rip the gills out with my hands as soon as it's in my lap. I agree with you, they pump more blood out when they are alive. You can take it a step further by massaging the blood out from tail to head.

Excellent video!

Yes... game clips for securing fish while in the net.

My 10 yr old game clip broke on my last month and needed a quick replacement.  I ended up getting a commercial grade crab bait clip from Englund Marine for under $2.  Works great for securing a salmon in the net.  Actually, it's smaller size is a plus in this case.  But unlike a game clip, you can't really put a whole bunch of fish on the same clip.
