Typically from Bay City up is spinner country and from the Ghost Hole down is herring country. From my experience and questioning of the successful at salmon fishing.

Be careful, for every rule there's a frequent exception.     There are days when herring outperform spinners up there and days when the only thing they want is eggs.....  Better to come overprepared and hyper observant than go home empty handed.

As a general rule of thumb though, Mojo's info. is golden.
