You guys please be careful.  Yesterday there were two whales playing in the jetty, this morning , there was a surfer in the jetty and this afternoon, a small white boat overturned outside the jaws on the southside.  I saw one guy brought in and lifeflighted out.  Now a couple of other boats are bringing in items believed to be from the boat.  CG towed the overturned boat into their boathouse.  Tillamook bay is a hopping place the past couple of days.  I stayed off the water today since I wasn't sure what the fog bank was going to do. (plus I'm a wimp in the wind when I'm by myself!!)

Stay safe my friends!

Thanks for the heads up Julie,

We will stay as a group and be really conservative.  I did saw a whale once fishing off the jetty there couple months ago (was wondering if it was lost).  I was told always have a "plan B" just in case if kayak fishing was not favorable because of weather.

Oh, your not a wimp in the wind...your just smart  :-D

I haven't launched from that ramp yet. Nehalem is 25 min.away. Is there any where to clean mud off my kayak. I slide it in and out of the back window of my 4 runner. Thinking about running down.

Our trailer is in space 14 of the rv park. We have a separate hose set up for cleaning our kayaks. You're welcome to use it if there isn't something closer. We won't be there Saturday but will be there Sunday.

Bring a couple water jugs and a rag or two fill up the jugs at the fish cleaning station and wash away your troubles of muddy 4Runner seats.

The area where we are launching does have mud on the low tide, but high tide it will be covered when coming back in.  We will be helping each other carry our yaks to the water, and I'm more than happy to help carry yours too.

TKnight and I are convoying from Clackamas at 630 am.   Will be at the launch site around 9.  See everybody there that's planning on showing.  For others that can't make it, see you next time.  For anyone that's running late and need help carrying their kayak to the water surface.  give me a text or call 503-998-5666 (if not planning on using the ramp).

Hi everyone.

I'm planning on hitting Tillamook bay on Saturday 3rd.  Low tide is around 11am.  Launching around 9ish.  Going to drop off a couple crab traps and hook as many rockfish on the south wall until my arms become flimsy rubber.  Open invite for anyone that wants to come out. did you catch any thing?

"did you catch any thing?"

So the idea of hooking rockfish until I get rubber flimsy arms was not so real.  It was a dead slow day as if fish were never there.  No one got skunked though as SSAL, Surforegon, and TKnight each hooked a rockfish. We got a total of 5 crabs from traps. Below is a pic of my fish of the day along with a small cabby. Reguardless, a nice fun day though 🎣🎣🎣

(Not measuring it with my plastic minnow, this was how it was surprisingly snagged).
