The sun is still out, there's no snow on the ground, so why post regarding the Spring Tournament?  I mean, were not done for the year right?!

Well, I promised Kardinal84 I'd make a Powerbox as a prize for the tournament, and I had a few hours on my hands.  So - here is is, similar to my prior post on my battery box project, but this unit is prototype#3, so it is a bit better in terms of fit and finish, and uses parts you can commonly find on Amazon (rather than scrounged from bins in my garage).   So for those who don't want to DIY, all you have to do is take the right prize winning place in the tournament.

I have finished the unit completely except for the connector / cable gland to exit the box - still waiting on those to come in, then will wrap it up and set it aside.

Also - if prior to the tournament, no one has claimed the battery I found on the access road to the beach, then the battery box will include the found battery - best way to recycle it properly - i.e. put it back into use fishing!

You need to start selling those... I'd buy one.

OK - so one of the biggest PITAs in making these is cutting the panel (cutting board) to fit the dry-box and with properly spaced cut-outs to accept the fuses and accessories.  Bottom line - I resisted the idea of selling them since it's labor intensive to first make the panel, and then wire the things.

Well, I found a reasonably cost effective way to have the plastic panel made - should cut several hours out of the assembly time. . .  . it translates to $10 saves about 3+ hours of hand cutting and fitting.

IF there is enough interest, I could have a batch of panels cut.   If people want to DIY the rest of the job, great, I'll pass along the panels.  IF not and you have $100 burning a hole in your pocket, and don't want to buy and assemble the bits... then I could probably try to get bulk discounts and make a few for people as I can or put together a kit.   Note - SLA battery would not be included but available on AMZN.  (shipping cost from AK would be hell)

I am also open to hosting a box-building party for those local to Anchorage, AK.  Happy to help those who are OK with hand tools get the job done.

I am interested in one of those as well. A party sounds intriguing.

I'd have to secure a kitchen pass but a build party could be cool.

... And by "need," I mean want bc now I know it exists (like a trip to kitchen gadget store or a specialty home organization supply shop).
