Just ordered a 2016 Tandem Island in Dune color. I'm very much looking forward to tricking this boat out for fishing. We've got a lot in store at Kayak Fishing Oregon in 2016. See you on the water.

Jammer - are you planning to guide people on the Tandem Island?  Or maybe you're moving to Hawaii to be one of those Pacific Warriors and nab some 100lb tunas.  That's a pretty sweet kayak ride!!

In 2015, the AI and TI were significantly modified to improve sailing performance. Prior to 2015, the AI was a retrofitted Adventure to convert it to a sailing trimaran. Because it was initially designed as a kayak, the mast position was too far forward and resulted in the bow submerging when going upwind and reaching. The bow submerging resulted in taking water on and collecting in the hull as well as making it difficult steer in wind over 10 Km/hr (weather helm). So the 2016 models sail better and include the new Mirage drive. If i were buying now and could afford it, I would buy a 2015-2016. BTW, whatever year you have,  they are big fish killing machines.

The 2015/16 AI is 16'7" long, holds 50 pounds more than the older AI too. I can't wait for mine to arrive! Where's the sailing thread?!

Sorry, I've been busy and missed this. I'm interested in both sailing and fishing. I'd enjoy riding in someone's 2nd seat to get a feel for the ins and outs of sailing these.

I'm retired and generally available most days to sail and or fish. Let me know what's a good time for you and if the winds look good will give it a shot.

Just found mine on craigs list. Havent taken it out yet. Im going out to Hagg lake this Thursday to try it out.

FYI, a couple of us crazy guys are going to hit Hagg tomorrow for some wet winter sailing just for kicks. 
I do not plan on doing any fishing, just riding the wind.   

If you have a sail, and man enough to handle some cold rain, come on out and join us. 
Planning to launch from Ramp C sometime in the morning and play till we get enough.
