If I have to DROP an anchor this is my favorite, adjustable weight and minimal $$ loss if dire straits are encountered.

When not in use, anchor rope, crab line, stay out of the way and don't jump around in the boat. Or if you are anchored in calm water like a lake.

Nice work boxofrain!

What's that clip in the first picture?  Been looking for something to hold in the kelp with.

I noticed in the picture of your "rudder replacement" that your screw holes were on the top and bottom.  That's the way my P15 in Seattle is.  I like the way you strapped that.  I was really thinking about how to do it and I think you've solved that.  Of course last week I picked up a new P15 for San  Jose and it has the screw holes on the rear.  I'm so confused.

Box that clamp in the your first picture is something like we would use on ab tubes to keep them from floating away while were down under water. Kind of sucks to come up with and ab or 2 and find your tube 100 yards away.

The first anchor pictured is just a clamp out of my tool box. Pick them up at any hardware store, look for quality steel or they will rust very quick in salt water.
