Hey all,

Thanks for all of the good advice about fishing near Florence. I have one more question... Where is the best place to launch for some crabbing in Florence? Or do you guys think the river will be too blown out for that?

Thanks for any help and merry Christmas!

When I was a we little " pain in the arse" my grandpa used to take us to the north jetty for crabbing off the dock. The sweet spot back then was on the river side of the crabbing dock chuck it as far as possible towards the coast guard boat house.  ??? Damn that brings back memories... He said he would buy us lunch and the first time we fell for it, to him buying lunch was a loaf of bread and a package of cheap hotdogs.. Uncooked... No condiments...  Just wrapped and eaten, good times....GOOD TIMES.
Now that was over 35 years ago but I can remember it like it was last week! Thanks for the memory grandpa RIP, thanks for triggering the memory, Beachmaster90 it's nice to reminisce of the good times during the holidays. I don't know if that helps you but if it's too rough to yak it you can dock it. MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE

way too blown out for crab.   Siuslaw crabbing is best from June through September with some success in May and October most years.  cheers, roger

Hey thanks for letting me know. I had a hard time imagining them out and feeding in a blown out river.

Any places you would suggest crabbing in the current conditions?

I am not aware of any on the central coast, perhaps up north...
