Lol. you are a maniac!  like it!

depending on the weather, you might try out by the prison. the cliffs there provide steep drop offs that might hold rockfish. fishing fairly close to shore by Miller's landing sometimes yields smaller rockfish.

I've never fished there this tine of year. very curious as to your result.

<jealous>

I have not fished January / Seward, but a stretch that I wanted to try was to troll the stretches just south of the big river delta shallows at Tonsina Creek.   I heard from one of the deck hands out of Seward that he has caught a few kings there, but he was talking in-season (summer) and he couldn't be sure if the area pulled any feeders.   Last time I tried to do this I got into so many juvenile black cod that I spent all my time shaking them off and didn't get into salmon.   Not sure if they'd be there this time of year though.

Regardless of which side you try for Rockfish (Prison or Millers), giving a few passes for salmon trolling would be great intel to have on the possibility of identifying any Seward feeder kings.

Watch the afternoon winds in Seward - they can kick up a bit - so plan accordingly for your return and tide timing.

Thanks AKRider for the info it was pretty slow but I did troll for a little bit and I actually think I might have got into a salmon real hard aggressive take down peeled some line and then it was gone actually marked a few fish that were about 70 ft down in 150 ft of water off of miller's landing other than that though 1 little copper rockfish a massive irish lord and a cod that looked like he survived a trip through the cannery

ooo...Not many fish that can rip drag out like that.  That Seward King fishery is just dying to get figured out.  Great report!  thanks.
