This is a prize driven event and proceeds from entry fees will go to local charities.

The Huntington senior and youth program and CASA (court appointed special advocate) of Eastern Oregon. The volunteers at these programs have been really helpful and the work they do is incredible. I am trying to have a representative down at the meet to say a few words.

If I can work out carpooling with someone from the Portland area for this, I'm down.  Panfish are the one fish I actually do pretty well at.

where will check in be at?  Huntington or Fairwell Bend?

I don't really fish that end of the pool so I might need to go do some scouting.

If it hasn't been decided yet.  One of the campgrounds on the powder River arm might be a good base.  Lots of camping spots and it isn't effected as much as the upper end if there is a lof water fluctuation.

Still working on stuff, but I'm looking at  Spring blm campground if I can get a permit. Back up plan is Lions park in Huntington, which I already have permission to use. Possible fishing all along Snake river road (unpaved but well maintained) that is not private and you can safely launch. From Spring CG, it is about 9 miles to Morgan creek boat launch. Swedes Landing is 23.5 miles from Spring CG. Takes about 45-60 min driving speed limit. Spring CG has a Launch area and fishing within paddling range. They also have a fish cleaning station. 2$ day use fee. 5$ overnight camping. -jed

Looking forward to seeing more details - this looks awesome! If there is any possible way I can make this I will. Crappie is one fish my boy actually likes fishing for; maybe I can get him involved too.

If I still have my boats, I'll be making this trip and my oldest could make this trip with me. He's "caught" the kayak bug now as well.

Fyi, if you find a campsite near the water, night catfishing is always fun.

If you've never seen brownlee res. on a map.....its huge.

Kokatat is stoked to be a sponsor of this event.
So stoked in fact that they're offering their newest fishing PFD (Bahia Predator) as a prize.  This PFD is so fresh that it's not even on their website yet.
