Thanks, I have a Scotty locking flush mount installed over the front Hobie rod holder space on the Outback, and the dual-Mighty-Mount arrangement on the Big Tuna.

The QR-1 does seem smaller but that's ok for lake fishing trips.

I tried fitting a Scotties Orca into the Stealth base. It was a no-go, but it was close. Not so sure about the compatibility statement. ???

Hey there,
Yes, our based are compatible with Scotty and Cabelas.
It is not a locking base, but it is a very snug fit and we do have the internal tab that only allows for one way in and out of the base.

Also, it works with most rail tracks. The foot size is the same as a RAM ball foot, so if that works in your system, this should work as well. Confirmed to work with GearTrac, Harmony, Native, Jackson and Hobie for sure. Also works with Yak Attak.

Also, its all Lifetime Guaranteed, just like Craftsman tools. So, if you buy it and hate it, just send it back. Or, if you ever have an issue, well send you a new one. Thanks! -Jason

The Stealth and Scotty rod holders and bases have the same basic design, but their dimensions are slightly different.  Specifically, (a) the shaft of the Stealth rod holders is larger in diameter than the shaft of the Scotty rod holders, (b) the little rectangular block inside the hole of the Stealth bases is larger than the little rectangular block inside the hole of the Scotty bases, and (c) the notch for that block in the shaft of the Stealth rod holders is bigger than notch for that block in the shaft of the Scotty rod holders.  As a result:

1. The Stealth rod holders will go into a Scotty base, but they don't go all of the way down into the base.  However, they do jam pretty firmly into a Scotty base.

2. The Scotty rod holders won't go into a Stealth base unless you file down the rectangular block inside the hole of the Stealth base enough that it will fit into the notch in the shaft of the Scotty rod holders.

3. If you file down the rectangular block inside the hole of a Stealth base, a Scotty rod holder will fit in the base, but it will fit loosely enough to rattle. When you pull a rod out of the Scotty rod holder, the rod holder will come up out of the Stealth base, and can spin around in the base.

The bottom line is that you can use a Stealth rod holder in a Scotty base if you don't mind a real tight fit, but you can't use a Scotty rod holder in a Stealth base.

Jason at Stealth is very good to work with.  If you aren't satisfied with a Stealth product, he'll replace it or refund your money.

Hey Pmmpete,
Thanks for the review!
Our intent with the bases is that, recognizing that we are new, we wanted to let people avoid drilling new holes if possible. Nobody likes to do that.  So, Our products are designed to fit into Scotty Bases.  That being said, they are a totally different company and sometimes the tolerances between our parts don't match as closely as we like.  In most of cases it works fine, but we have seen some of the issues you mentioned.  When we have these issues we try to correct them as quickly as possible and make sure our customer is well taken care of. Sometimes we can just try a different base and it fixes it.

I should mention that we do deliberately design a tight fit in our connection points. I  personally think it feels for more secure, but I'd be interested to hear what you all think.

Thanks for recognizing our service.  We take it seriously and it's great to hear it reflected by anglers.  Thanks for continuing to give us the opportunity to work with you all on this forum. Great anglers! -Jason

Gonna resurrect and old post couldn’t find an answer anywhere. Anyone know if these stealth rod holders work on a 4 inch YakAttack gear track?
