Has anyone fished this lake? It's at 3500 feet so I'm hesitant to try it, but the word from someone in Bend is that it could be good already.

I'm new to Kokanee fishing so if anyone has any tips for them or for the brown trout in Suttle lake, please let me know!

Haven't fished it in many years but the reports never seem to change. Kokanee tho plentiful run small(over populated).this is from ifish and kokaneefishingforum. For the browns this time of year stay close to shore as you can get while staying out of the logs.casting to shore and back to the kayak is good also.spoons and rapala/ other minnow baits that resemble kokanee are a good bet.you can Flatline troll rapalas about 100ft behind the boat also.

Is there a reason you would go to Suttle other than the fishing?

Odell is closer for you with larger Kokes.  No browns but macs could substitue.

For some reason I thought Odell was closed during the winter. I was just considering Suttle because a friend recommended it, but now I'll have to look into Odell too. Thanks!

The weather forecast as of Saturday said 5-8mph winds and 80% chance of rain which would be totally fine by me. As of Sunday it was 20mph and 30mph gusts. I stopped by on my way home to look at Suttle lake and it looked like 3+ foot wind waves across the lake, so I decided to pass this time lol. Thank you guys for the advice, I look forward to going back as it is a pretty lake and the deep drop offs around the lake look irresistible.

Beach: Odell is open year round as of this Jan. 1. I've had the yak in Suttle a couple of times with not much luck, but it does have a lot of small kokes.
