Does anyone know if the Diamond Creek Park trail, outside Homer, is kayak-cartable?  It's about a half mile, and 240ft elevation change.  It will be a butt kicker on the way out, for sure.

I want to fish in front of the bluffs one of these days, and my options so far are to hump my kayak up and down this trail, or pedal 4 miles from Bishop's beach.

Looks like a challenge...I'd be willing to try it at least once. Maybe even Sunday morning after the tourney?

We didn't catch fish but we packed up ATV's and tried it.

I think one day, for anyone adventurous enough, I'd like to try both a Deep to Whiskey Gulch float.  Also an Anchor Point to Homer float.  The latter might not have the current influence the Deep cr to WG float has.

Would need to plan it and I wouldn't mind doing it on a day a powerboat is around....

Rudy, since you've been down the trail, would you say it's possible to get a kayak up and down with a decent cart, for us stupid, pain-glutenous types?

I'm always down for an A-to-B plastic navy cruise.  I think my new Revo is going to be a mile-crushing machine, but I don't have enough seat time yet to start guessing at reasonable ranges for a day.  I've been looking at sail kits online. . . .  ::)

Well that opens another line of discussion.  I didn't know you could drive the beach from Bishop.  Could I make the drive in a capable-enough full size truck?  Have Power Wagon, will travel!

We picked our way through some pretty massive rockfields.  Had you asked me exactly at that time...I would have said "HECK NO!" ...then about 10 minutes later we came across trucks parked and coming up behind us...so ya you can...but I have no idea what the getting stuck factor is....

I am trying to recall but later in the year, I bet you could work down from Anchor Point as well.....

As long as you have full coverage you can do it haha.  With tides like today there wouldn't be anywhere to park a vehicle a safe distance from the waves.

We just need someone with two 4 wheelers to fairy us from Bishops
