We wish we could come out for a little pre-fishing party but dannybay and I are heading to Florida so Don can target some bass.  Little different weather but we'll be thinking of you warmly  ;)

From the timing of the launch/tides which takes us towards the jetty I deduce this a crab&rockfish show?

One weekend too early for springers in the bay. The afternoon tides would take us right to the ghost hole and back.

Ah, well. Crab and rockfish, it is!

Gotta go score me some Gulp minnows, and I've saving fish heads for crab bait.

Well don't know nothing about nothing, but those little gulp minnows do the trick! I can't wait to try some other minnow patterns this may;)

That's really nice conditions for Tbay!  Good Luck.  I'm planning to hit the river.

Another newbie here that might join you. Some guidance on far end bits would be appreciated. Also exactly where do we meet up.

This time of year you absolutely need immersion gear of some kind. Non-negotiable. Wetsuit or drysuit. Seriously. And you CAN self-rescue, right ? At least Shannon and I will have radios, maybe others. So stay in touch with one or the other like a puppy, it's cool. We'll be right out by the bend of the jetty, so sheltered from the wave action, but only a hundred yards from being swept out to sea and the tide does move you. And there is boat traffic running through hell bent for election. PFD and whistle goes without saying but consider it said.

For the rod, any stiff-ish bass rod will do. 6' medium spin or casting as you see fit. 1/2 oz of dropper weight or so off a 3-way swivel, #4-6 hooks and 3" gulp minnows. Something to keep your catch on, I use a fish stringer clipped to a padeye on the rail. Small model plastic fish gripper (rockfish have spines that be painful, y'all). If you wanna get fancy, pick up a "crappie rig" that has two wire spreaders and a snap swivel at the bottom. 2 hooks on 12" leaders from the loops and a 1/4 oz jig on the bottom with a minnow on each. Pulled up triples 3 times in a row last time out.

We're meeting at the ramp in downtown Shannonville. He'll post an image of a map on his phone once he charges it up past 40%. Give yourself 30 minutes to unload the yak down to the water and get your gear squared away. So I'm shooting for 7am at the fish cleaning station.

HH, I see your location. I don't wanna spend any time reloading yaks at that time of day, but if you wanna convoy, we can meet at the Thriftway in Banks at 6am and you can follow.

Looks like you guys are in for a great time! I've unfortunately got other obligations or I'd attend.

Definitely looking forward to wiring up my Humminbird Helix 5 SI GPS combo and chasing some fish tho!

That would be great Pinstriper, see you at 6:00

We probably have 30 minutes to play with, but lets plan on 6 in Banks. If we get to Tillymuck at 7, we can always make a stroll thru the sporting goods store for any missing items and still be in S'ville by 7:45
