Seeing that the other day there was a 75 pound halibut caught in 20 ft of water maybe the gulch should get paid a visit if the weather would cooperate,  when I go Thursday or this weekend im going to try some shallow water where I know there are halibut deeper and see what I come up with,  if the weather is nice maybe even try whiskey gulch.........the struggle of an obsessed man wanting a double digit halibut

Rough life you've got there bro... Lol

If you hit Whiskey Gulch let me know how it's drying out.

Hahah right on I just talked to a buddy that went out there in a power boat Tuesday and got one that was around 20 and lost a fish that he thought might have been bigger I would call that decent for 3 hours of fishing in may in 60 ft of water

Damn.  We ate all of our little chickens already so I'll have to get out again soon.  Need it to be dry enough to camp out tho.  Hahaha

Double digit halibut??? You mean triple digit right?

My first king off of Whiskey Gulch last year was April 12.  No reason not to give it a shot....

Didn't try halibut then.

I think I'm going to hold off on Whiskey Gulch for a few more weeks.  I feel like I'm getting closer to a Homer king, and I want to stay on it.  Lots of information gathered from last weekend, I'd be stupid to let it go stale when I have a chance to act on it.

I start fishing WG when the annual limit kicks in.  Last weekend was exceptional for size by the spit.  With only 5 to tag after April1, I try, not always successfully for size.
