I store all my kayak fishing tools and equipment in a plastic tool box.  It’s a convenient way to keep all that gear together, to carry it around at launch sites, and to protect it when I’m on the road.  When I get to a launch site, I set my kayak down by the water, set the tool box next to the kayak, and install the gear on my kayak.  I reverse the process when derigging at the end of the day.  I like a tool box with a handle on its top better than a plastic storage container with a removable lid, because I can carry the tool box around with one hand.  I also keep various items of maintenance and backup equipment in the tool box, such as a stick of dry suit zipper lubricant, so I'll always have them at a launch site.

I attach several items of fishing gear to a loop of cord, and put the post of a rod holder or fish finder mount through it.  This keeps those items together, and helps me install them on my kayak quickly.

It's just a piece of heavy plastic electrical conduit.
