If weather conditions are good this weekend I would really like to run off of Whiskey Gulch this weekend. Who knows might put something huge in the boat.  I know for a fact fish are there. Yesterday I managed 4 halibut in 25 to 30 ft of water biggest 2 being 15 pounds and the day before 2 halibut a dink and a 20 and lost what I think was a better fish, peeled line for a good while before coming loose. I would love to bust a 40 or better in early April lol, It would make winter a lot easier to deal with next year I think the fish have been there all along.

I might head out this weekend. I'm thinking the Kings should be chasing the hooligan up the inlet soon so might do some trolling as well...
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

im fairly certain yesterday I marked a few kings 30 feet of water 10 to 20 ft down big nice arches cant think of anything else it might be and all but one of the halibut had fish in there guts they were to decomposed to tell what they were but one had a shiny head like a hooligan but it kind of looked like a herring either way there is some sort of baitfish messing around out there

Man... I'm gonna have to move to homer or something.  I'm tired of reading about fishing and not doing.

And I thought I had it good living in Kenai! I do however plan on fishing the Kenai/Nikiski areas more this year. I know the surf casters do fairly well so why not a kayaker right?

only thing is its very seldom you get a fish over 15 pounds and they are often chalky for some reason but we have pulled some decent fish off the kasilof beach

If the weather is good, I'm game to fish whiskey gulch this weekend. Just the possibility of big fish makes it worth the drive.

I hope to see some of you guys there this weekend. I would really like to see what we could come up, I may put in some time for kings to but main focus is halibut for me I know that they are there but more lines in the water will possibly tell us if there is any with some size this early in the season.
