Saltwater Dollies

I would sure Like to get some saltwater dolly action this year ive spent have my life catching them in creeks, Anyone got any info on when and where, tactics for catching them ??

There was just a post about this in the Alaska outdoor forum in the salt water fishing section. Check it out. Sounds like resurrection bay is the place to go.

I was thinking with the anchor so close whiskey gulch should be great for them we kill them in the anchor

anytime it seems like after mid April you can hit them anywhere along the coast. Homer, WG, Seward. maybe even sooner this year. 

hint for later in the year. find all the halibut carcasses that get tossed lying on the beach at low tide. when the tide comes in, as long as there is a foot of water over the halibut carcasses, you can see decent dollies darting in and out above the white halibut carcasses. it's fun. I get mesmerized sight fishing...even if they are only 12 to 20 inches long.

I bet if a guy was to troll a coho killer or a humdinger he would probably have a hell of a time in shallow water with an ultralight

I was just down at Lowell point wandering the beach this weekend,  and a local guy was fishing for them just east of the houses.  He had a couple hits  while we talked,  but didn't hook up.  He said they come in close during the rising tide bc the salmon smolt they feed on get locked in there bc they can't go out against the rising tide.  Sounded legit to me...
