I am planning on going near avenue U.  I have never been to Seaside for razor clams so if anyone has tips or locations let me know, it would be greatly appreciated.  It should be a negative 1-1.3 feet tide, great fro clamming.

Whenever I go to a new place I just go out to where a bunch of people are already digging clams and just join them.  Works every time.

If I don't hear from HOW for my offer to volunteer at Netarts Bay on that morning I'll come up and join you.  I can get bay clams in Humboldt Bay but razors have been closed here for domoic acid for months.  I need my razor fix.

I am hoping there are a lot of people out there so it will be easy to spot the clamming grounds.  It would be great if you could join!  I have a group of about 7 people who are joining me and we are all relatively new to clamming so anyone with experience to join would be great.  Humboldt is quite a drive!!  If you do make it send me a PM and we can share contact info and meet up on the clam beds

I am attending the PFMC meetings in vancouver starting on Sunday.  I'll be in the neighborhood for a week.  Back to Ashland on the 14th.

there is somewhere around 9 miles of clamming there....go north as far as can go (to jetty). and back. its what i do. there will be hundreds of peoples out there everywhere. just get on beach as early as possible i try for at least 2hours before peak low.  i do a figure 8 STOMP then look where i just did that for shows, usually thats all it takes for me. its better i think if u know what ur doing and use clam shovel in the surf. i just use a clam gun for now.

Thanks for the tips!!  I will definitely check out the north end.  We are leaving the Portland area at 5 and should be there at 6:30 or so.  Low tide is at 8:40 so it should be plenty of time.

I am thinking about brining a light long steelhead rod for surf perch.

Clamming was great.  I went with a group of 6 and we limited out in about 45 min.  What a good time!  Plenty of clams for all.  Next time I am going to check out Avenue U in Seaside.  Next low tide is weekend of May 7-8!

After limiting out a few weeks ago, we are headed back to seaside for clamming.  Sunday is a 0.0 tide.  It is not as good as last time but still decent.  It should be a lot of fun .  Low tide is at 8:47 so we are planning to get there near 6:30AM .  We are leaving Portland at 5 am and should be back by 11 AM.

Anyone is welcome to join!  It should be a good time.
