Dannybay and I are heading to Loon Lake to peddle around for the weekend.  It's probably going to rain the whole weekend but that's why we have dry suits (and I have an umbrella!!).
Hope to bag some bass, crappie and trout.  ODFW said they stock it with 1000 trout on April 11 so there should be something to chase around.
Anybody have any experience on this lake?

We had a great weekend on Loon Lake.  Not that big but all kinds of fish jumping out of the water.  The weather was a mixture of mist, drizzle and some rain during Friday and Saturday.  Dannybay (Don) was happy he was catching hatchery trout as soon as his line was in the water.  I caught two trout and a decent size bass.  I didn't fish all that much I was sight-seeing.  The kids on the dock at the resort were having a blast fishing for crappie and bluegills.
Unfortunately, I think my trip to Loon Lake might end up costing me a bunch of money.  Don saw the Umpqua and all of the great lakes near Reedsport.  We'll be exploring the area more and he was looking for a lot or something to park our trailer.

That's a nice area down by Reedsport, been doing a little looking in that area myself. Between the Umpqua, Loon Lake, Tenmile, and the others, there is some seriously nice fishing down that way.  Need to get my wife to move out of Portland.
