Went to a Hobie First Cast last weekend (great way to spend a Saturday morning after a week in DC for work!), got to try out a Revo 13 and an Outback.  No fish landed but good seat time.

Went down to Gig Harbor Fly Shop again on Tuesday and tried out the Native Slayer Propel 10.  Didn't track well enough for my taste, stable enough for our local saltwater though...  Then I spent the next hour trying to decide between the Outback or the Slayer Propel 13, couldn't decide and finally had to let them close up shop...

This afternoon I went back down and gave both boats a side by side trial.  In the end, the choice became clear, made by the knee that has had two ACL surgeries.  The straight pumping motion of the Mirage drive pedals put enough stress on that ligament that it made itself quite unhappy.  It was only on a "full power" test, but I know those are gonna happen.  The same level of effort on the Propel drive did not cause any pain, so it was a pretty easy choice at that point 🙂 I get the boat tomorrow morning and I am really looking forward to getting out on the water in it!

The blue camo pattern is what I'm getting, with the BooneDox aftermarket rudder and paddle brackets as add ons.  Thanks GH Fly Shop!

I think you're going to like the reverse abilities as well, if the crank arms seam longer then necessary for your leg lengths as in if your short like TLW and I the crank arms are interchangeable with unicycle arms just make sure to order the correct spline type. We shorten I think 2-3 inches and I love it I'm still able to cavitate with out cranking too hard. If you need more info on I shortening them let me know.
Congrats on the new ride now gets some deck blood photos posted up.
