Crazy small topwater halibut

Well our derby was so-so...but our day was AWESOME!  Lots of crazy stuff going on a BEAUTEMOUS day!!!

So here's one crazy clip I got on video. We had a dozen fish follow our bait all the way up from 50 to 60ft down.   Tell me the kid isn't excited...lol.  Makes it all worth it. 

 

Nice day -- that's a sick way to catch a halibut!

I've had them jumping out of the water all over my old power boat.  One attempted to beach itself on the swim step even!!

Damn sorry I missed this one! Hopefully there will be more calm days like that. Might have to change my forum handle from AKFishOn to AKFishLess!
