Ok, so the date has ben set.  June 18th.

Unless we change it here are the basics.

1) One day of fishing n Saturday.  gives us a chance to postpone to Sunday if the weather is bad.
2) Start at sunrise, end at 5pm. (end time is the thing I am most open to changing.)
3) I will provide a small trophy.  Anyone else who can get sponsors or donate items, please do so.  I will make very effort to get the sponsors recognized.
4) Halibut only. Big fish by length (nose to center of tail/fork) wins.  You may enter two fish and both will be eligible for spots.
5) To be eligible, you must post in this thread your intent to enter.  I will edit this original post with list of entrants.  If after several days you don't see your name, PM me.  Minors can be entered by their guardian. Adults must be registered on the NWKA site to qualify.
6) Most importantly, this is for fun.  let's keep it that way plus safety.  I am not going to be the safety police but you must obey all Alaska rules in fishing and boating.

PRIZE LIST (will continue to be updated)
Traditional acrylic trophy (Kardinal_84)
Shimano Trevala 6' Heavy Power, Medium Fast Action. 65 to 200lbs Braid, 160-270 gram (5.6oz to 9.5oz)  jig weight (Kardinal_84)

Rudy,

As we discussed in my PM to you Alaska Outdoor Gear Rental would like to donate a Vibe Element Series 45qt multi-day cooler. These coolers are similar to the Yetis in everyway except for the price. LOL...

We should get a order from Stohlquist in sometime next week and maybe we can add a safety knife to the prize pool.

I will get in contact with you next week to make arrangements to get at least the cooler to you.

Where are you launching from, or where are the festivities? I will be in Anchorage at that time and it would be fun to meet you folks.

Rudy,

I am hoping that I get to fish. It really depends upon how busy we are at the shop that weekend. Either way we are planning to donate a prize or two to the event.

Ugh...that's not good.  The other weekends don't work quite as well.  A lot of flights are red eyes...lol.  Ya sure you can't make it?  Well there will be a bunch of us down there and I am sure many will fish Sunday.

I'm in! I'd be down to donate something to the cause. I'm sure GravesJacob is in too if he's not working. I'm off for sure that weekend. I'm planning on going down to wg this weekend after seeing the good reports.
