I may head down there on Saturday for early morning tide. Targeting King again.  Springers didn't last too long with so many hungry mouths to feed.

My recommendation would be to hold off until better forecast.  I see small window early Saturday morning but it could get ugly fast.

That forecast was definitely different last night. Still heading down Friday for a charter on Saturday will have to see if its better on Sunday.

The forecast appeared to get better yesterday but it went right back to 20kt winds with 5ft seas.   As a newbie I would hold off till it chills out a little.  I've been out there when it was glass and within 30 minutes I had waves coming over the kayak.  Next weekend will hopefully be better!!!

The southwest wind direction will make for a challenge.  It probably can be fished, but as others have said, flipping during your first launch isn't a great way to get started.

I don't make a decision till thursday afternoon at the earliest.  The same weather pattern can come through, but a slight deviation in path can switch the wind direction.  Southwest is the worst.  It allows for a super long run (fetch) of water for the wind to develop waves.  It can be 2 ft chop that you can easily fish, but underlying that can be four to five foot swells you don't notice EXCEPT they are crashing full force onto the beach.

I'm still looking at it.  Spot marine forecast shows light wind and 2ft in the area for Saturday as of now.  That'll change I am sure.

If it continues to be bad, I am considering a Lake Louise run for ice out lakers since the ice is out a month early.  Or maybe Big Lake for pike.  Frankly, I'd rather go after kings and halibut becasue I am a meat foisherman.  lol.
