Haven't been active in the last...well, many months due to life and school kicking my ass. Things are finally letting up a bit, so hopefully I'll be back around soon. Soooo many new names!! Crazy! Look forward to meeting some of you at the ORC.

Meanwhile, here's a video from last week on the coast. Hope you dig it!

Congrats on the slab!  That halibut made a nice drogue for stabilizing you in the surf.  I might have to try that.

Sweet!   Like spot said, I like the way the halibut kept you stern poitned into the waves.  That's something to think about.

Super nice fish!!!!

Nice fish! Thanks for the video. I love sticking those fish and watching the buoy disappear under the water, what other fish can you do that with! I also enjoy seeing how others maneuver  hobie adventures through the surf, definitely tricky.

That was awesome! I need to make me one of those halibut harpoons. I wish I would have had one in Alaska last year.

Thanks all! I actually jettisoned the fish right as the wave broke. I didn't stow any of my rods below deck, so I wanted to make sure she stayed upright. I think the rev 16 would surf in ok with >80lb fish in the tank well, but combined with my bodyweight and gear I'd be pushing the weight capacity. Hopefully I'll get to test that theory at some point [emoji12].

The harpoon was great! I bought it from Ron back when he liquidated a bunch of his gear. I didn't know him as well as a lot of you, but it does make me happy every time I get to take him fishing. That also explains why it was full of mojo and easy to wield.

Well done & a perfect beach landing. You made that look so much easier than it is. Nice to meet you up there Dick & hope you find more time on the water between all of your domestic responsibilities.

Awesome fish!  I have got to get out for halibut.  Sadly, opportunities for this year are basically over so have to wait for next year.

Older boy's 10th birthday party is that day, and the MIL is coming up.  Plus we are going to do a bunch of work on getting the house ready to sell.  :'(
