Hello, this is my first post (YAY!!)

I have a question concerning shipping cost for kayaks to Alaska.

Let me first explain that the kayak that I'm looking to purchase is not available in Alaska. This leaves me in a little situation, huge shipping cost! (ACK quoted me between 300 to 400 to ship)

Just needing some good advice from Alaskans that chose to order from the lower 48, any good tips to save money on shipping would be appreciated.

Thank You.

  Check with Alaska Marine Lines.   They run barges from Seattle ..   website is;

   You'll need to have the shipping dimensions / weight.   Zip code it's coming from , going too    Might be best if you can get ACK to quote shipping just to the Seattle terminal.

Good luck.   3-4 hundred might be right.     I ship kayaks across the continent often, average price is 180 dollars,  that's terminal pick up or commecial.    Residential delivery usually adds another 75

I ordered from a place in Seattle and they discounted shipping 100.00 which brought it down to 150.00.  They sourced the shipper and everything, I just picked it up at the shippers dock.
