Well if you put two yaks on it gunwales down you can easily flip it strap on a motor and have a pontoon boat.

But mostly illustrating the fact that if your grinding a trailer down to re paint you really need to go all the way around or your wasting your time.

Been done already...   ;D
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

I agree that if you are going to take the time to make a trailer pretty, you need to get as much of the metal as possible.   However, I hate using a grinder that long, so I am more than willing to drop that kind of thing off at a sand blasting outfit for a thorough job.  You just can't beat the clean etched surface to stick fresh paint to.

I think it only cost me about $110 for a complete top to bottom blasting on my trailer.  SOOOO WORTH IT!

Looks good.
What brand of paint did you end up using?  I'm assuming some sort of "rattle can" paint was used.

What's the plan regarding "trailer build"?

Rustolium primer and Krylon Supermaxx  gloss top coat, without access to a good compressor with a water separator, I had to go rattle can. If I was able to use my gun I'd have went with napa paint and a good catalyst.
As for the build , led lights, semi trailer flooring aluminum I believe is what B-Drew has access too,?and a bolt on removable rack with PVC slides on the deck level for the PA. The rack will possible have a tree to hold additional yaks/car top boxes or truck bed boxes. Still need to get the material, boat, and owner here for a good day of layout and tacking.

Believe it or not my trailer was painted with cheap ACE Hardware RUST STOP gloss paint rattle cans.  I used it once on a quick project because it was like $6 for a huge can and it worked great then, so figured what the heck.  The unique thing about the cheap ACE paint is that it takes forever to dry, even to a tack (like days).   I thought that was going to flat out piss me off when I first used it, but since it cures a lot slower than all the fast drying name brands out there, it actually holds up better IMO.  I painted my trailer 6 years ago with absolutely no primer, just a fresh sand blasting.  Other than expected small rock chips where the tires flung rocks at it while driving 60MPH in the SE Oregon desert wash board roads for 350 miles, it still looks awesome.

Looking forward to seeing the trailer all road ready.  8)
