I am new to kayaking, and just brought a used predator 13 last winter and ready to go fishing and crabbing. I just don't know where to go and I would like to go with some one that has a little more experience than me. I like to fish for bass, catfish or flounder (lot of fun). Here is what I did so far to the kayak: 1. add two roller to each side to help with bring up the crab pot by putting a counter weight on the other side. 2. anchor pulley. 3. fish pole holder, 4. flag. roller for the kayak (my weight 85 lbs). deep finder. So I hope I am ready to go. I would like to start with lake or close to shore with little or not current for fishing before go out to the ocean. Can any one point me to a place to go for flounder or willing to go with me that will be great. I live in Bothell area.

Hi Showa, I have done pretty well on flounder and crab at Camano Island and Kayak point. Both areas are sandy and usually well protected. Also done ok north of Edmonds for flounder and sand sole.  I've heard that you can get big Starry Flounder at the Nisqually Delta park. Hope this helps.

Thank for the reply. I fish in Maple grove beach and not a bite, Kayak point don't have a easy access to launch the kayak. Can you give the exact location on Camano Island? I was thinking go there on Monday 5/30/16

Hey Ravensfan, have you launched at kayak point park? It looks from google maps like there is a ramp next to the fishing dock, but I haven't been up there in *mumble mumble* years...  Going to be taking my boats up in June for a clan gathering, and the flounder sounds mighty tasty.

It's really easy to launch from Kayak Point. There is a boat ramp next to the dock. I roll down the boat launch to the beach, and launch from there. Get there early in the summer because it gets really busy.  As far as Camano, I've launched from the state park. I think next time, I will be looking at camma beach because I usually head that way when crabbing.

Thanks.  We have a bunch of the yurts rented for the weekend, so early won't be a problem:)
