The next time I'll be down on the Peninsula is June 18 for the Yak Classic in Whiskey Gulch.  You and your son should sign up (there is a thread here in the Alaska regional forum for it).  Looks like there will be a pretty big turnout this year.  It's free to participate, you just have to sign up to have a chance at prizes.

Be careful what you suggest Low_Sky.  The same was suggested the 1st time Art fished in Oregon from his kayak and he wound up taking 2nd against ~100 "locals" in the Oregon Rockfish Classic.

Glad to see you made it Art!  I wish I could join you my friend.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain

I don't care who does it so long as somebody dethrones Rudy this year!

Where is that "like" button ?

Glad to hear you made it Art. Now go show them Northern boys how to catch some fish. And I hope you have a great time in Alaska.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

Friday and Saturday are my last days to fish until mid July, so I plan to head to Homer in the morning.

Lol. how'd I miss this.

PLEASE!!! Someone catch a MONSTER!  To be honest, my money is on my son Ryu.  He not only ties his own gear but now cleans his own halibut.  He's a mini-me in size only. His attitude, enthusiasm, and never quit attitude is at level above mine.  And frankly, I think those are the key ingredients to up your success rate.

With this many lines in the water, I want a triple digit pounder to be a winner!!!!!

I'm so sorry I'm going to miss it! It would be a great opportunity to meet so many of you at once! I'm having to work out of town a lot this year. After September, I will be in the water every time I can get somebody else to go!
Good luck everybody! I can't wait to see the pictures.
