I'm not sure if anyone knows if there is an H rail for the revolution. I only see them for the PA . anyone have any good links or ideas for gear tracks that will fit a hobie revolution?

What and where are you trying to mount? Any particular reason you want an H-rail? The GT90's work fine most places and applications.

Some people have done it. I am not sure if you'll be able to view this post without being a member on NCKA but someone added H rails to a Revo 16. As some of the folks there mentioned I would be concerned with re-entry with the rail anywhere but behind the seat.

I have an H-rail on the left side, behind the seat. They're meant to install on a flat surface, and there really aren't any flat surface on a Revo, so it takes a little creativity.

I love gear tracks.  I had a yellow plastic pair from a tournament a year or two ago so I recently threw those on.  I was pondering the idea of adding H-rails, but the gear tracks are so much less obtrusive and very versatile.

I own a revolution 13, and mounted a 16 inch gt90 gear track in front of my cup holder. I usually mount a rod holder and my fish finder on it. If I was to do it over, I would cut a piece of cutting board to use as a backing plate because of my fear of it flexing when I'm trolling a diver or a large weight. Great product though, and very easy to install.

I looked at the H rail for a different application but didn't think it would hold up. The ends are composite and only held in place with one screw.
The GT90s are super stout and I've used them on the forward gunnels for years on multiple boats (including a couple Revo 13s). I didn't use a backing plate, just fender washers; and I have used them while pulling divers in heavy current without any worries of the track pulling out.
That being said, I think my next Boat will just have Scotty flush mounts so I don't have to worry about having mounts, on mounts, on mounts. I usually put my rod holder in the same spot anyway.
My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Here's a bit on mounting GearTracs on my Revo. There is now a solid backing plate available from GearTrac. If memory serves the washes in my installation are wider than the GearTrac backing plate.

Before you order any gear tracks for your Revolution, reach inside your kayak and feel the area inside the gunwale under the location where you want to mount a gear track.  The area is narrow and pretty arched.  If you use bolts, nuts, and fender washers to mount something on the gunwale, you'll need to bend the washers to fit the curvature of the area under the gunwale, and if you get very far from the center of the area under the gunwale, your bolts will emerge into the side of the arched area, and your nuts will be hitting plastic on only one side.  If you try to use a backer bar to attach a gear track, unless you manage to get the backer bar centered exactly in the top of the arch, which is difficult to do, the backer bar is likely to end up hitting plastic with only its right front and left rear corner, or its left front and right rear corner.

The YakAttack GT 175 tracks are horribly expensive, but they can be mounted from the outside with screws, which is a major advantage when you have a Revolution.  All you need to do is position the gear track exactly where you want it, drill one hole at each end, screw the track down with two screws, drill the rest of the holes, and stick in the rest of the screws.  I've mounted 16" GT175 gear tracks on my 2014 Revolution, as shown below.  Two of the screw holes can't be used because they are located over foot rest notches on the wall of the cockpit, but that still leaves 14 screws holding down the track, which is more than enough.  The wide tracks do a good job of resisting the leverage and stress placed on them by trolling rod holders and similar equipment.  I have found that I mostly use the ten or so inches of the gear track which are closest to the stern of the kayak, so I could probably have bought shorter tracks, but the 16" tracks allow me to mount equipment next to the front of the cockpit of my Revolution.  I'm real happy with these tracks, despite their expense.

Here's an example of my gear tracks loaded with stuff (a fish finder, two rod holders, and a rear view mirror) while I'm downrigger trolling off the right side of my kayak and running a planer board off the left side of my kayak.  The mirror is so I can monitor the planer board without turning around and looking behind me.

Here's what I did.i made a backing plate from ⅛x¾ aluminum flat stock.cut to length of plate. Mark holes and drill with 3 bits.largest is slightly smaller than the mounting bolts.use your bolts to tap the threads out and install.
