So I got a call from someone trying to install a Lowrance 4 (of some kind) but says he can't get the connector through the threaded nut under the seat.  has anyone else experienced this?

Would piss me off since its "Lowrance" ready.  I found an older thread on it but its all I could find.  I thought I would have heard more about something like this.

Here's the guys picture:

A forum says grind down the edges.  THAT is a ridiculous solution but I guess doesn't do any harm....

I have both the elite 4 chirp and elite HDI that I put in  2015 Revo and 2015 outback.  Both were tight but I was able to force it through without grinding.

Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

+1

Rudy, they'll fit without altering them, but it takes some effort.  I pushed and fiddled and cursed at them for a while and they suddenly popped through.
The fish bite twice a day - just before we get here and right after we leave.

+1.  It was flexible enough to push through.

Yup. Tight for sure! But it will go! Then there is getting that nut started on the connector threads by reaching all the way back under the seat to the tankwell. Your arms got to reach there with your shoulder crammed inside the center hatch. Doesn't feel good.  :'(

Better to keep ones mouth shut and presumed a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I should've taken photos of bruise I got from threading that connector.  Resort to long arms friends if everything fails.

Pass the other end of the cable through instead.

I highly doubt that the transducer will fit through that hole >:D

I successfully crammed the red and the blue Lowrance Elite 4 chirp leads through the "Hobie Lowrance-Ready" thru hull connector.  What a PITA.  Didn't have to do any grinding or sanding, but swearing...oh yeah.
