Hard to take a good picture when it is rough out,  but first halibut from a kayak on a day like today is no small feat Dan.

The crew!  Great turn out given the weather and the fact a few folks had to leave early!  Let's do it again!  More photos coming when I get to Anchorage.

Sounds like conditions on the water were a bit tough. Wish I could have come down to join all of you. Congrats to John on the win. Looking forward to hearing the individual reports on the day. Anybody "accidentally" catch a king?

My 2nd place fish. I had a blast, and met some great people. Looking forward to the next one!

4th and 6th place fish, 25.7 and 22 lbs. had an awesome time as well. Launched at about 6:30 into calm water. Went about 4 miles south and it got pretty rough. Really tested the stability of the outback though, I'm very impressed with it so far. The sailing rudder was amazing as well. Being able to track straight and turn on a dime into those "rogue" waves was huge. Thanks again to Rudy for putting this on and thanks to all the sponsors. I ended up with one of akriders sweet battery boxes as a prize and a trevala rod which I've been wanting to get for a while. Very successful day.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.
