As I mentioned in my intro I've been a PC Doryman for almost 30 years but my dad (who's the captain and owner of the boat I've been fishing on all these years) has decided to sell the boat and all the gear along with it as a turn key outfit so it's not going to see the salt until it changes hands, I'm not all that I'm bitter or anything  ...

So now that I'm left Shanghai'd in the meantime, if you will, I'm looking for someone who has an extra boat, preferably a hobie as that is what i'm looking to find for myself, who would spend a part of day letting me play with it in the Nestucca, Sand Lake or Town Lake and give me some instructions and part of the day showing me how to launch a kayak through the surf so we could fish on day 2  or If anyone is interested in long term (throughout the summer) mentorship.

I have numbers. They're nothing super secret or anything most other Doryman don't know but I do know doryman can be selective on who they share info with. I'm willing to share if you are.

I have a couple rods and some tackle but not a ton, I'm willing to buy/share catch/go halves/reimburse for more, since the gear I've always used belongs to the boat, no wet/dry suit or kayak fishing designed life jacket but I can rent/buy if you don't have one to loan.

I would love to do some halibut fishing this year-again, I have numbers!!!

BTW I have a shanty in Tierra del Mar, it's nothing luxurious so don't get your hope up, and will provide dinner from the Sportsmans in town (I love the gizzards!) if you're interested.

I would be happy to take you out, but I am not available this coming weekend. Do you have weekdays off (when it is a nice day  ::))  I have a ton of vacation time I need to burn.  I only eat gas station heat lamp gizzards, though. Unless you can guarantee these are at least on par with what I am used to.

I have been itching to get back to PC and get some more crab.

I should have mentioned I'm off Thursday, Friday, Saturday and ever other Wednesday. My wife works full time (mon-Thurs) and I have a 1yr old and a 3 yr old so I do need a little notice-I know PC can be hard with juggling weather and surf report but that's what grandmas are for, right :) ?

The gizzards at sporty's are pretty first class...

My disclaimer is I hate crab and only do it to stay on the good side of the land owners who let me hunt but I'm happy to do the work for you if that is what it takes to got on the ocean this year. I haven't missed a season in over 26 years and am not about to start.

I live in Stayton PM for personal contact info, conditions, details, arraignments, misc. we can find a spot halfway to meet swap stories and have a pint or three to see if it would be a good fit.

We might have to go kayak fishing together.
I have 2 Hobie Pro Anglers, 12' & 14'.
Have not had the opportunity to do a beach launch yet, except in a 21' Learned about 3 times.
I'd love to go out at Cape Kiwanda for salmon, bottom, and halibut.

I can say without a doubt he has the mind set and ability for it, I took him in the bay and he was at it naturally in the big tuna.

Thanks for the offers guys! It's been a busy summer for me, at this point it's looking like just a few sporadic days between now and bow season that I might be able to get out. And I hate to be that guy but I know I mentioned numbers out of PC but things between my dad, who's the keeper of the GPS, and I have been kind of strained over this selling the boat deal and he's now not wanting to let me retain a copy for myself. I can eyeball triangulate a few of them with land marks but if this changes anyone's mind I won't hold it against you.

Hey Doryman,
I live in Salem, so I'll keep an eye out for ya and calm ocean. I have an extra hobie so would love to hit some bottom fish out of Depoe Bay since the main boat is an Adventure: not good for the surf.  There will be some calm ocean after bow season. Casey: http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?action=profile;u=7235 is from Salem too.
