I know Kwake got down there last night and will stay through Sunday. Look for a Grey 5 door Dakota.

Looking at the forcast what's the limit for fishing and not getting beat while trying to catch a fish.  Looks like NWS has 2-3 ft seas with 10kts of wind?

is that the regional forecast. looks do-able with the only issue being sat late night.  SW winds can create bigger surf. but looks ok to me. http://marine.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lon=-151.89226&lat=59.82924#.V23GQXqIbqA

That sounds like it's about the same conditions as last weekend. It was doable for those with more experience, but some opted to stay ashore.  It seemed the farther out you travelled the rougher it got. It's probably at the limit of everyone's comfort level.

Just remember, the marine weather forecast is fine to use as information to decide whether or not to go to the beach. Once you're at the beach the forecast isn't worth much. It can be calm in Kachemak Bay and horrible up the inlet, or vice-versa.

Everyone be safe out there.

I guess the weekend is over, but I'm not going to hang up on a technicality.

Loaded the boat and planning on heading for the gulch in the morning (Monday). Hope to be launching by 8.

With the small tide I should be able to get in several hours of good fishing. Hopefully, a little catching will come along during that time.

I will be fishing somewhere.  Checking weather and tides.  I may try launching out of Deep Creek since that King conservation zone goes away after June 30th.

I'll probably be down there at least one or two of those days. I'm planning on making an effort at 2nd run king. The stretch from Whiskey Gulch to Happy Valley used to produce some pretty good fishing.  Those lodges at the beach by Happy Valley used to quietly clean up on kings there.  I've spent many a day trolling (powerboats) in 10 + or - feet of water between the falls and Stariski Creek. Hooking up to a big, 2nd run king would be worth a couple days of peddling 8)
