Any reason you're specifically looking for a Lowrance?  I've been really happy with my Raymarine Dragonfly.

Haven't got it yet (tracking says Wednesday afternoon) but I just bought a Dragonfly 4.  Lowest price I found for a CHIRP DI fish finder with GPS chart plotting.  $259.95 shipped, no tax.  Might be a bit more going to AK than the mainland though.

I have both Lowrance Elite 4 CHIRP w Chartplotter and Navionics maps and the same but Raymarine Dragonfly 4 PRO. Honestly I like Dragonfly more - it is smaller, nicer looking, more easy to operate, more features. It is only my opinion, doesn't mean that I recommend it for everyone.

I have two lowranc we units.   One chirp and one hdi.    Both have worked well for me, but the newer dragonfly units are pretty nice looking.

If you buy lowrance - make sure to download and update firmware for the sonar, and also be aware that the Navionics chip comes loaded with basic map.  This is shorelines and such but not much depth contours.  If your device says Navionics Plus, you'll need to download the chart updater app and then download your regional detailed sonar data to your chip and then select the new chart data in chart settings to get full contours.   On my unit the latest updated AK sonar charts were titled "FishNChip" in the chart select screen - see photo.

All of AK coastal waters was only a modest download and the detail is SO much better.   Many folks bought their unit with he Navionics package and didn't know to go online for the real detail data, or didn't select it.
