Oh ok I was thinking ocean when I heard cape d, hopefully I can get out on the 10th. Have any of you guys fished around this time out of seaview/long beach area?

+1 on that surf launch being pretty hard core. No way I would attempt it in a PA either. Willapa Bay MA 2-1 can be really productive for salmon, and the surf is light/manageable. Weeds can be thick in there, and don't attempt it during large tide swings.

Thank you all for the advice. I'll do some scouting in the big boat before I commit

Thank you for the info, is there certain surf/swell conditions to look for that would make it a little easier? Ill have to head up there still and take a look, probly puss out lol.  Where would you more experienced guys recommend someone doing there first surf launch at? How's pacific city for a surf launch?

Seaview/Longbeach is a terrible place to learn how to transit the surf zone.  Pacific City on the other hand is a good place.  Follow surf reports throughout the year and if you don't have much experience, look for days where the swells are 2 ft or less.  Best idea is to find someone who understands the surf to show you how it's done.

Ok I appreciate the advice, It sounds like I will hold off on that one for now.  I'll keep a lookout for a open invite with a group or something.  Thanks again

A small group of us are going out tomorrow at Pacific City 6-7 am launch low surf might be a little windy but it's a low swell day.
