Marine areas 9 and 10, July 1-15:
No min. size. Daily limit 2 (combined). Release CHINOOK, COHO, and CHUM.

The funniest part of it is, WDFW is serious.

Sounds legit.  Next year WDFW want to charge you $10 bucks more on your license and charge you $17 for each species you chase (Salmon/Steelhead/Halibut/Sturgeon)  I've been fuming about it myself.  After the most dismal returns and handling of the previous salmon runs, they have the audacity to want to charge almost DOUBLE for your license.  http://wdfw.wa.gov/wildfuture/proposals/060316%20wild_future_factsheets_fishing_license_fee_proposal.pdf

That sucks. Sounds like they want to drive away fisherman.

This so called "Season" is really just to allow the natives to pull their nets around, and the licensing prices next year are honestly a joke. I cant see anglers putting up with this for too long.

They do,  in my opinion the State Government and WDFW do not want fishing activity unless it is tightly controlled and monitored.   They do not want you on the water unless they can watch you.  You will see the end of recreational fishing in Puget Sound within your lifetime.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."

Look at the bright side. It is easy to limit out. Glass half full, I say!

Yeah.. the Seattle / Tacoma area gets a big fat red light to a lot of fishing. :-\ This adds a hurdle to me learning the local fishing scene since I'll have to now also drive my but out somewhere farther.

Well, since that's apparently your normal catch rate ...

What you're looking at is a catch and release Chinook fishery. The actual retention for Chinook was 7/16 - 8/4 in MA9 and probably a full season 7/16 - 8/15 in MA10. MA10 also recieved a baglimit increase yesterday.
