So today we head out to try and catch a few sockeyes.  River is super high, fish counts are decent but commercial nets are out limiting the fish passage.  We try for 4.5 hours and manage three.  I probably rolled 4 or 5 more fish during that time.

Ryu fished about half the time as he was having too much fun swimming around in the river with his drysuit.  I guess he is still just 11.  lol.

For full disclosure, I hooked them, he battled them.

If you don't like Ska music...turn down the volume!  haha.

First a few pics:

Sweet video Rudy. Never thought about using my drys suit in the river.

This spot would have been hard to reach without one.  No current due to the eddies but it was chest high in some places.  We did find an alternate route later but to find the spot Ryu was floating a time or two.  Works great...especially in the rain!

THAT is spectacular!! What an acrobatic fight. Someday if I come to Alaska will you and Ryu take me there?  "Take on me".  Nice stringer of fish. Looks like fun!

Thanks again all.  He is getting to be quite the angler...

Of course he will make you.  Anyone from NWKA we would love to fish with!!!

This version of "Take on Me" is appropriately by the Ska band "Big Reel Fish".

If you get him some fins, a mask, a snorkel, some earplugs, and a speargun, he'll soon be ready to whack some halibut!

That's "Reel Big Fish", for the music fans wondering why they can't find any "Big Reel Fish" stuff out there.
