So the past few times I've gone out, I've used the T13 in order to get a better feel for it.  I gotta tell you ... I love this yak, maybe even more than the T15.

Tracks well.  Not as sticky as the T15, but not problematic in any way.  Only subtle adjustments are needed because this yak is pretty responsive.  And I mean really responsive, I can turn this thing much faster than the T15 which is one of the major pluses IMO.  I don't think you're giving up much to get the responsiveness and the gains more than outweigh that.

Deck layout is a tad better than the 15.  The front part around the sonar shield is changed a bit which allows for water to run off better from the front hatch area.  It works well as I took a couple waves over the front at Pac City and all went well.

Speedwise, it is more than adequate.

I love the footwells!!!

Now, I did take a little water in the hold on my first launch through the waves.  I think it is because I didn't have the front hatch sitting correctly.  I say I think, because I cranked it down for the next 2 launches and didn't get any water in the hold.  Could have been my fault.

Surfing? Only had 3 runs back in and timed them pretty good.  But it felt good surfing.  I didn't struggle to keep it pointed in the right direction.

Thanks for the review Allen.  I can't wait to get my hands on one myself and I'll offer my own review when I do.

I noticed that you don't use the sonar shield.

How does one mount a fish finder in it?  In looking at the photos, it doesn't appear to be water-proof at all, or deep enough to close with a FF in place.  Do you just put a ram mount in the depression and rig it once you're on the water?

Also, do you nut yourself on the rodpod lid when sliding forward to grab your fishing rod?

I know, I know, I sound like a little kid on Christmas Eve.....  Can you blame me?  I mean really....   :blob1:

I didn't use one in the Sonar Shield because that was my portable unit.  You can indeed mount one inside the sonar shield.  The Humminbird I have mounted in my T15 folds down.  It is not a waterproof area.  But my FF is waterproof.

Rodpod lid seems to be at just the right height to avoid a dangerous situation.  But I don't slide forward when grabbing the rod ... long arms help!
