I'll be hanging out in the Lacey Cabela's marine area this Sat the 27th to talk kayak fishing and Heroes on the Water from open until ? with an introduction to kayak fishing seminar around noon. Whether you're an old salt who likes to talk shop, new to the sport and would like to pick my brain ( for what its worth ), or looking to take the plunge but don't know where to start, please stop by!

Would love to go but can't get out of work this Saturday  :-\
I remember chatting with you for the first time at the Coho kayak classic years back in Ballard and picked your brain for techniques - well to this day I still use them and it's what got me my first coho and the next. Thank you!

Hope you get a good turnout! I encourage folks to stop by, he is a great fisherman and ambassador to kayak fishing.

Best of luck and hope to see you out in the water sometime.

Thank you for the kind words! I remember that conversation with you and Leo like it just happened! Great to hear it ended with fish in your freezer too 😉

I hope life has been treating you well, and would love to share the water with you sometime!

This looks pretty awesome. Since I'm new to fishing in the NW I've been trying to learn as much as possible. Making plans on heading down there to at least do some brain picking. :)

Poly, will try to swing by about 12:30 if you're done with the chat.  Trying to hit the Green Can Saturday and with the tides thinking a Luhr launch about 1:30 PM and paddle over might put me there near 2 PM on the high tide swing.  Will you be upstairs by the restaurant?

27      Low   8:12 AM    -0.1   7:59 PM     Set  4:56 PM
27     High   3:48 PM    12.1
27      Low   9:12 PM     6.6

You trying to catch high slack?

I was there this morning. Released 2 jacks, 1 shaker, and kept this 12# hen.

I'd prefer the low slack but right now I have no options other than the high. Baby sitting two black labs for our kids while my wife is out of town.  IT just doesn't work.
I might be able to give the Sunday low a shot...
I figured Saturday would be a test run...I've never fished there but put in there when I did a Nisqually to Alki solo in 9 hours 4 years ago in a sea kayak.

High slack still fishes nice, and the flat is under water so it shortens the paddle a bit. My neighbor and I hit the high Wed morning. I released a couple jacks and hooked/lost something that felt ok. My neighbor lost a 10-12lber at the boat, and hooked a beast that drug him around for a good min or so before shaking him loose.

I got to the intersection of 516 and I-5 and traffic was stopped as far as I could see.  Just turned around and went back to Kent.  Sorry to have missed you.

No worries. The McChord airshow traffic was pretty bad from what I heard. Never really did an official seminar. Just answered lots of questions for small groups and singles.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by! It was great to meet you all!
