Looking at the wave swell conditions and it looks like we will finally be getting some calm seas Sunday 8/28! I'm finally prepared to take my kayak out to the ocean for the first time and i would really appreciate if someone woulda wanna come be a fishing partner come Sunday if the prediction keeps through the week. I would like to head out of Depoe Bay as it is easiest to launch from. Anyone wanna go fishing??  :icon_biggrin: :)

u picked a great spot for ur 1st trip. i love depoe bay. no sand no huli. unless u get too close to south reef or north or flatrock on a crap day, also coasties are right there. going out aim for the 1st bouy when near it  head south or north. then i know  and can see am past the reef/s.  gotta go pro? whale or 2 will be around, fishing is gonna be fantastic! with some pig lings and pig cabezon!! possible record breaking lingcod or cabby coming up were gonna need ur go pro for that i don`t have one.  ramp time about 6-630 launch time no later then ? 7-730? shortly after coffee. hopefully sunday thru at least thursday. i know u have a pfd and some sort of immersion gear right?. u have marine radio? gps with hopefully some sort of backup? my f.f. has gps plus i bring my handheld especially if fog`s in. safety flag? these u should have. as example when u fish with someone u split up for whatever u can get back safely and be able to announce outbound/inbound at the slot or"hole"on channel 80 especially your inbound..... with that i absolutely could use another partner! my usual is in scotland thru next week? the lucky ... anyway am counting on it being doable for me at this point. heck ya lets do er.   mark

anyone else??? sunday thru at least wed/thursday?

Yes sir! Got all that except for the GPS! Got plenty of safety backups though. Meet ya at the marina at 6:30 and launch at 7:00? If the wave swell forecast stays true? And yup I got a go-pro. I'll make sure to charge er' up! Excited to get out there! I'll PM you for a more proper introduction.

Awesome! Wednesday I for sure have the day off from work. So if the ocean is calm I will be there!
