I just saw that.  Looks like I'm officially the biggest kayak fishing nerd out there now.  That's right I can identify your fish, tell you a bit about it's ecology, and then write a program for you and your buddies to have a virtual online fishing tournament.  Now if I can only get out fishing a bit more.

I donated it and it requires a less than common server setup to run (Ruby on Rails).  Oddly, after I first help create this with Bill from NCKA I ran across another site with a grander vision of the same idea.

Oh well.

This is a fantastic website!  The design and utilities are first rate, kudos to the webmaster(s) and programmer(s).

The carved trophies are from a guy named Sean Walker of Piscean Artworks (he goes by Piscean on the NCKA board).  He lives near Monterey and does a lot of tribal fish art carvings.

PAL's been giving those guys some good exposure.  Perhaps it's NWKA's time next year.

BTW, it's Western Outdoor News, not Wilderness Outdoor News.

No need for french!!    ;) Just making sure WON gets their proper dues.  PAL and WON have done a lot for pushing this sport.

ABSOLUTELY! 100% agree w/ you. Without awesome writers like PAL and mags like WON the west coast kayak fishing scene would be much more in the dark. They are our rock!!

I sure hope its NWKA's turn next year! And thanks very much for the kind words.

I will definitely try to shine a spotlight on the group in my Western Outdoors magazine story on my Fish on Ice trip with Chris Mautino. Unlike the newspaper, which is only distributed in California, the magazine covers the entire western region including the Pacific Northwest. But I think you're far more newsworthy than that, so I'm looking for other story opportunities.

BTW, PolePole is doing a great job representing NWKA in Kayak Angler's regional round-up. I'm hoping to see an Allen Sansano penned feature in the near future.

From a personal standpoint, I hope to make it up your way next year. We'll see; I've just been named to the SoCal MLPA stakeholder's group a la Scwafish in NorCenCal, so much of my life will go on hold for the next year and then some.

D'oh!!!   I have a deadline today.

Paul, even though SoCal is outside my normal area of fishing, I really appreciate the effort you put into this and will be putting into this.  The writing is on the wall my friend.  I'm sure we'll have our "turn" up here in the near future.
