I just received my new Trident 13 today and I still haven't tested out my fancy-schmancy 2nd place prize paddle.  I really need to get out on the water and test these out.

So.. is anyone up for some fishing soon. I might be able to sneak out for a half day next weekend, but a mid-week day trip would be easier for me.

Here are some ideas, but I'm pretty open to anything.

1.) Salmon/steelhead (anywhere they're cooperating)
2.) Columbia R. or Multnomah Channel - walleye/smallmouth
3.) Lacamas Lake - panfish/largemouth
4.) Swan Island - panfish/largmouth/smallmouth/sturgeon
5.) Hagg Lake - panfish/largemouth/smallmouth/trout

Basically I'd like to beef up on some AOTY points.

If it makes you feel any better Spot.. I've been waiting since June 24th for this kayak.

Or are you simply worried that I'll actually invest some time in AOTY point gathering.

But, I want an Oompah Lumpah NOOOOWWW Daddy!  :D

A little of both but mostly I'm just playing.  I remember you talking about the new ride at the begining of summer when we fished Tillamook Head.  Glad to hear you finally got it!  Have you sold your wife on the benefits of having one kayak for each of you (including your son) or is she going to make you cut one loose?

If I give you a buck can I sit in it for a minute?   ;D

I'm planning on fishing the Columbia after work today, probably smallmouth near Stevenson. Hope to be on the water 5-5:30

Bsteves,

I'm planning on hitting up the Willamette tomorrow after work, around 4:45 at Clackamette Park (very close to my house). Hoping to target some of the coho that are on their way to the Clackamas...

Depending on my WAF GAF then I might be able to make Hagg this weekend.

Actually, it's a demo boat, so pretty much anybody can sit in it for free.

As for fishing tonight.. I'd love to join you Brian, but that's probably too short of notice for my wife.  Actually, it's easier for me to get time off work than time off from the family, so after work might be as hard as weekends for me.  I'll check with the wife about hitting the Willamette tomorrow.

If nothing else, and if the weather is decent, I'll probably take my son to Hagg this weekend to do some trout trolling.  I believe they recently had a couple stocking events.

Yep ODFW was suppose to dump 8,000 trout in last week, as well as 8,000 this week.

Brian,
I'd be up for an after work trip this week Wed, Thurs or Fri. Next weekend is WIDE open for a day trip.

This week.  ;D (No, I'm not joking)

Watch the rain this week.  It'll fill the bay.

Forgot it's my turn to pick our son up at day care today.  So no fishing this evening for me.  Maybe tomorrow.  Maybe I'll have to settle for fishing in the rain this weekend.

Settle?!?!  Brian, this is Oregon.  The best fishing is done in the rain.

Anyone want to propose a plan to meet on Sunday?

Jay are you still up for an after work trip Wednesday?  I'm thinking something simple and local would be best for me.

I'm going to try and get out Sunday as well.  Not sure for what yet.
