Caught 3 different species today!

Smallmouth, Largemouth and Walleye (at least I think it was a Walleye). Anyway, fantastic day! Caught 7 and lost more than that. Life is good.

Not a walleye and not a sauger unless a second dorsal fin is hidden. That said, I'm sure you had 3 species:-)

Mountain whitefish.
Caught on of those for the first time the other day. Can you retain and eat them? Any good?

That mouth is entirely too large for a mountain whitefish...it ain't that.
Perhaps Squaw fish?   Pikeminnnow.

Seems like Squawfish and pike-minnow might be one in the same, and at least a few years ago had a bounty on their head.  Might be a good idea for a get-together fish tourni.  Not sure if the bounty is still on or not...

Thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like the consensus is pikeminnow. It was fun to catch, no matter what.

This might be a good thought for a tourni next year.  This link has a long video including fishing techniques?
