I read yesterday in one of the fish reports that the Kilches River gets a late run of Chinook, and that the run is just getting started.  I have never fished it by kayak, and I know most of the river bank is private property, but I wanted to see if anyone has ever fished it by kayak?  It seems very doable to me, but not sure if launching and returning to the same boat ramp is a good, or possible idea, or if it's better to launch and drift down to a lower take out?

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

The Tillamook rivers receive a late run of chinook through November & into steelhead season. Depending on their water levels, these rivers can be kayak friendly & offer a wide variety of float fishing opportunities. The Kilchis river sees a modest return with roughly around 1,000 chinook retained each fall. IMO, the section of river & type of fishing I'd choose would be dictated by the water level, flow & location of fish. Fish on!
