Just received my new Kokatat dry suit. Can't wait to try it out. Think I will slip away with my Kayak Tuesday and give it a go on the Willamette for bass!

Congratulations!  You won't be disapointed.

Congratulations, that's one of the best & most important purchases you'll make. This fall was my first fishing in a Kokatat dry suit & ever since I keep jumping in the drink any chance i can get. In turn it's actually has helped me match the perfect drift...

Wish I could join you tomorrow! I haven't done any Bass fishing in quite some time now. Let us know how it goes!

Great relatively inexpensive choice!  Just so you know though, that is actually considered a paddling suit, not a drysuit.  You will get a little water in around the neck area (around the neoprene).  Not much but you will get damp.  That said... I do love mine.  I like the comfort of the neoprene better then the tightness of the latex gasket on my other drysuit.  Enjoy!

Think I will  be putting one of these on my x-mas list...would be nice to be able to get out in the winter more.   Debating about waiting for the gore-tex version though.  Also, what do people do in the rain for head protection?

Kokatat Paddling Suit worked out fantastic! I love it. Jumped in a couple times just for grins. But, old man river was nasty. I quickly tied on a Carolina rig and looked up and had drifted half a mile! Lots nasty stuff in the water too. Roots, stumps, logs, you name it. Even got into small whirlpools. Not a good day for fishing. No luck at all. But at least I have a winner with my dry "paddling" suit. Great purchase.

On the way back, I heard over the radio that the City of Salem dumped 20 million gallons of raw sewage into the Willamette yesterday. Since that is upstream (I put in at Rogers Landing in Newberg) I will throw the suit into the washer for sure!

Thanks for all the comments and keep your lines tight!

The best rain hat I own is the Sunday Afternoons' "Oregon Cloudburst" rain hat.  See https://www.sundayafternoons.com/p/oregon-cloudburst-hat/ .  It provides great rain and sun protection.   I have a thin polypro skull cap which I wear underneath it in cold and windy weather to keep my head and ears warm.

For sun protection, the best hat I have is a Sunday Afternoons "Adventure Hat."  See https://www.sundayafternoons.com/p/adventure-hat/ . It's similar to the Oregon Cloudburst hat, but not waterproof.
