Wow 30's in the nights is pretty cold...  Didn't look like there were any yurts still available @ Seaquest.

I noticed on the park website that there are catfish in Silver Lake.  So who wants to go cat fishing at night?  Anyone ever done it from a yak? Or just from the shore with a bell/lanterns?  Trying to gear up before I leave, what sort of rigging setup is best for catfish?  Should I get one of those bell things?  Or shall we just do some noodling? haha j/k

Thanks

Sean

You bet your ass I will be catfishing with you.  I miss going after cats since all we have around Seattle are dinky bullheads.  What has always worked for me is chicken/beef livers, dog food, or rancid dough.  Forget the bell unless you want to sit on the shore with your rod in a rod holder.  That does bring up a good question- is Silver Lake open for night fishing?  I did it at Banks lake and had a blast.

The yurts appear to be all booked up.

Crappie fishing should be getting good as they school up and go on the fall chew.  There is also a decent night time crappie fishery off one of the resort docks and I'm sure it can be applied to other locations.

Should be some catfish around, as well as bass, perch, and trout.

So ... who's going to make it?  Sound like Richard, Yar, PSR, and Spot for a day.  Anyone else?

I think I might come down early on Saturday.  Still got a list of honey-do's that I need to finish up around the house on Friday.

I think I can swing for day trip up there on Saturday.  It's been a hella long time since I fished that lake.
Wow, a looooong time!    :o

It's been so dang long since I have been there, I don't remember where we launched our 14' aluminum boat from, but I would guess it was the State Park there.  I remember camping there, and vaguely rememeber that there was a boat launch near the bait shop?

So, being an out of towner it looks like I need to pick up a 1 day license for $14.50.    Other than that, I think I'll be set.   Suppose when I get there, I'll just look for folks with yaks and assume they must be someone from here.

Edit.....

Now that I have Googled it, I found the State Park, but that wasn't where we stayed.  I'm thinking it was the Resort now, but I can't seem to locate that on the Google map here at work.  The software is goofy and won't GOTO when I put in an address. I'll have to try again at home.

I'll be heading down Friday night and leaving on Sunday.  How far is the public boat launch from Seaquest?

Anyone want to carpool from Seattle area?  Leave early Saturday morning and come back Sunday noon-ish after fishing that morning?
