There's a bunch of us around your area.  A couple of us were on Lake Washington today, catching some sun and trout. Lots of opportunity locally, even in the dead of winter. The FB link below in my signature should be helpful.

West Seattle here just south of Alki. I fished some in my Outback last summer but I'm definitely in the learning stages. I just got a wetsuit and tried it out on Sammamish this weekend so I feel somewhat confident about going out in cold weather.

Hope to see you out there!

A kayak fishing newbie here from South Whidbey Island. I will be picking up a Pro Angler 14 in the next few weeks and plan on hitting the local waters when not at Westport.

Woo here - from Edmonds.  Grew up in Des Moines and fished a lot at the marina before the Pier was built and only caught rocks and bull heads when I was in grade school so I gave up fishing in Puget Sound for a long time.  I took up fly fishing in fresh water and got together with some old retired guys to fish at Ross Lake for the last 20 years.  Recently moved to Edmonds about 10 years ago and saw people catching fish off the beach at Picnic Point in 2010 and dug out my old saltwater pole and caught 2 and 3 salmon each year off the beach and decided that get better odds if only I could get out further from the beach. That is when I looked into getting a kayak.  Did a lot of bicycling so it was natural to purchase a Hobie.  Last year I bought a PA 14 from the Seattle Boat Show and caught 24 salmon last season (mostly pinks) and even got some crabs.  So I am technically new in Kayak Fishing. Found NWKA by accident and boy what a wealth of information and experience you all have.  Been reading all the forum stuff until I got to this topic and so here I am from wonderful Edmonds.  Hooked back to saltwater fishing in Puget Sound.

Huh, apparently I forgot to post in this thread when I joined up :-/    Anyway, Jim here from Gig Harbor.  Grew up in Lynnwood, did a bit of fishing waaaay back then from shore and small boats.  Went to Nebraska courtesy of Uncle Sam and flew computers and ended up spending 27 yrs there.  Moved back here a few yrs ago and got back out on my beloved salt water...  Been out once fishing from my yak (Elie Gulf 120 SOT) but I have spent a pretty good amount of time out just enjoying...

Just being out here again where you can see the rhythm of the earth flowing back & forth is good for the soul...  Fresh water just ain't the same!

I'm ready to hit Lincoln Park with you.  Never fished for salmon from Kayak berfore or for any fish yet.  Need to learn quickly for the Coho Classic.  If my vacation is approved for this Thursday and Friday I plan on practicing a lot somewhere between Alki and Seahurst Park which re-opens this Monday.  This while my wife is in Utah for a few days.  Don't want to waste this quality time alone.
