I had the chance to fish with Zach on Saturday. At some point in the morning the conversation turned to "grit".  You know, how some days you'll reach the point where any thinking human would have given up hope but you just keep grinding.
An hour or so later, we watch as Kyle boats a monster 20+ pounder.  6 hours later, Zach and I troll back for one last pass in front of the launch.  Beaten down but still believing that a fish is possible I begin my last turn when I hear Zach yell "I think I've got a fish!"
Grit son.... The boy's got grit.

What an amazing experience. Thanks for the pictures!  I was reliving this moment throughout today and am still living off the high of my first springer. The fish tabes out at 35-36 inches and I was lucky I did not break it. My drag was too tight and it towed me a little. . I am thinking of fishing this weekend. Now back at salmon or take advantage of a calm day on the salt and fill the freezer? PC looks calm this weekend. Hopefully that is the first of many fish. Thanks mark and I hope we get to fish again soon.

Great fish Kyle !

Way cool! Catching a chinook from a kayak seems like it could be quite a challenge!

Kyle and Zach - nice catches!  And way to show Mark how it's done!!!  :)  I really love the photos of salmon being caught from kayaks in downtown.
