Had to go to the west side for training, so I carted my Hobie over and managed to sneak out for a morning fish on Friday. I was hoping to get into a few lingcod, I did - but no keepers. Caught 3 shorts. Caught a really nice black rock and 15+ greenling. Kept the black and 6 of the greenling, I think they are quite tasty and will make delicious fish tacos. All fish were caught just off the kelp beds, west of the launch. It was a great morning on the water, and it was nice to get out on the salt.
This is my first time posting a report, bear with me....  I will try and post a few pics.

Nice work!
Was that a pretty easy launch? I always drive right past that place on my way to Neah Bay.

It was a really long drag with the kayak.

Did you launch at the recreation area?

Looks like a fun trip and really nice water.
Fish on the right side that's where the fish are! John 21:6

I love fishing pillar point. I do most of my halibut fishing there. The trick is to launch approximately 2 hours before high tide, and come in 2 hours after high. There are some monster lings hiding off there in the depths too.

Nice post - super morning to be out on the water. I came close to swimming when a gray whale crested near me off of that beach a couple years back.
